UNIFIED SPORTS

What is Unified Sports?

Unified Sports combines students with and without intellectual disabilities on teams and encourages them to participate in inclusive sports training and competition.

Elementary Schools

Unified P.E.

Unified Physical Education is a unique opportunity for students of varying ability levels and backgrounds to come together on equal terms through ongoing fitness, sports, leadership and wellness activities. This course focuses on the physical, intellectual and social growth of all participants. Engaging in physical activity and sport alongside peers with and without disabilities helps to foster important social relationships.

Unified Sports Experience/Invitationals

Unified Sport Invitationals are single-day, less competitive opportunities for students to experience the power of Unified sports. While aimed for schools new to the movement, it provides a platform for students to showcase abilities through a fun event. These events are hosted by Special Olympics Minnesota and hosted by individual schools.

Unified Esports

The Unified Esports and Fitness Guide for Schools was developed to help Unified clubs and esports programs implement the 3-component model of Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools® (UCS). Unified Sport competition

Unified Sport competitions are opportunities for students to showcase their athletic abilities through competitive, league-play styled sports. This sport model combines athletes with and without disabilities on the same team.
